How Twitter and Facebook have helped the indie artist.

For as long as there has music there have been people trying to make it in the industry. For some it’s easy but for others its a constant struggle to reach out and promote your stuff. Artists like Lady GaGa and Justin Beiber have million dollar labels behind them and that was always where the indie artist fell short. How do you get your music out to prospective fans?
But with Twitter and Facebook small artists with little or no money can create an outlet to reach their fans. You can set up a Facebook page in a few minutes. Giving you a solid base to promote your music from. It also allows immediate contact between fans and the artist. Without social networking sites it would be almost impossible for an unknown artist to promote themselves usefully.
