K-Woody – People I’ve Met EP

00 - K-Woody_People_Ive_Met-front-large

K-Woody, the up and coming rapper from Boston dropped the amazing People I’ve Met EP yesterday. The EP was recorded and engineered by the uber talented One Love from Kinetics & One Love. I was a little late in copping it due to my internet kicking the bucket but damn it was worth the wait. If you read the blog at all you’ll know that I cannot get enough of Woody’s tracks. The dude consistently puts out good music with a message behind it. Livin’ On The Flow was Woody’s first solo tape and he has come a long way since that.

People I’ve Met  is the best work that Woody has put out yet. The production, features, lyrics and message all come together seamlessly and they deliver one hell of a mixtape. You may have already heard two of the tracks off the EP, Roll With Me and What’s RealThere is something for everyone on the EP and I guarantee that you will find at least one song that you can relate to. Hit the jump to read the rest and get the download link.

K-Woody – Heard Of Us

K-Woody dropped a brand new track over Drake’s “Lord Knows” beat on The Fresh Heir. The up and comer from Boston completely owns the track. The Track is called “Heard Of Us” and in it Woody talks about the 12for12 movement in Boston. For those of you who don’t know, 12for12 is a movement in Boston that is bringing the local Hip Hop scene together and trying to push it to prominence. You can check out some of the 12for12 cyphers here.

The flow in the track goes perfectly with the beat and Woody delivers some stunning lines ‘this that old school meets new school like reunions’ and ‘runnin’ with it like I’m Forrest’. K-Woody is one artist that constantly amazes me with his versatility and drive, there is no doubt that he is definitely one to watch and if you haven’t already then make sure you download his debut mixtape here, like his Facebook page and follow him on Twitter.

K-Woody – Be Easy

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen some new K-Woody but as expected he drops yet another great song. The track samples Radical Something’s, Be Easy. When I saw the cover art for the track I had guessed that Woody would do something with Radical Something’s track but this is way beyond what I expected.

Anyone who has listened to Woody knows that he is constantly evolving and keeps getting better with each track he puts out. Be Easy has a chilled out mellow vibe to it and it really shows how far Woody has come in the last year. The flow and beat come together perfectly and all in all it’s a perfect addition to the Summer playlist. Check out the song below… And if you haven’t done it already then follow K-Woody on Twitter, like the Facebook page and download his debut mixtape, Livin’ On The Flow here.

K-Woody-Brooklyn I Am (D.O.A remix)

K-Woody is back at it again. The kid from Boston just dropped of a dope remix of Jay-Z’s track, D.O.A  (Death Of Autotune).  And I’m gonna be honest, I wasn’t that into the original song by Jay-Z  but, as per usual Woody killed it. D.O.A has a slow, smooth almost Jazzy beat to it and Woody changes up his flow to suit the beat.

Every time I have to do a post on K-Woody I’m pretty psyched because I know that he’s gonna deliver every time. Just listen to the song. Woody’s flow suits the beat perfectly and the verses flow seamlessly through. I can honestly say I’ve listened to it at least six times in the last half hour. That’s all I’m gonna say.

So make sure you like the page on Facebook. Follow Woody on Twitter and show some love by downloading his debut mixtape, Livin’ On The Flow

K-Woody-Save The World Tonight (Official music video)

Sometimes the simplest thing are the best. Like food, cars and music videos. I’m not saying that over the top, elaborate videos don’t have their place. They do. I like looking at Nicki Minaj in a cage as much as the next guy and don’t get me wrong, I love videos like Eminem and Dr Dre’s Guilty Conscience. But there’s just something about a simplistic, minimalist video that makes the music stand out. The whole point of a video is to get your music on the tv so it can be seen by more people. Isn’t it? So why have a video that has so much going on that you concentrate on that instead of the music!

And, when you’re an indie artist still in college trying to make a music video that is any good costs money. And aspiring musicians have very little of that going. So simple is best. K-Woody did just that in his first official video for the track, Save The World Tonight. Check it out. The video doesn’t rely on flashy visuals, it’s just Woody rapping in a few different places and it works. The video stands up on its merits and you can focus on the song not what’s happening in the video.

K-Woody-Livin’ On The Flow (Mixtape)

One of the most underrated indie artists is back, K-Woody finally hit 1000 likes on the artist page and as promised, we got Livin’ On The Flow. The tape is Woody’s debut and it’s a mix of some older beats and a few new ones. The tape was written, edited and mastered by Woody. There’s even a track over Jon Kilmer Studios Midnight Rider beat. Hell, Woody even went over the same Cutlery beat that Hi-Rez went over for Ooh ChildThe tape is a mix of some party songs like Livin’ On The Flow and Midnight Rider.

K-Woody has been slowly building his fan base and it looks like word has spread. In a couple of weeks the artist page went from 900 likes to 1004. And how can you not like this kid when he puts out consistently good songs and can go over almost any beat. Hit the jump for the rest of the post and download link. Continue reading

K-Woody-D.A.N.C.E (Remix)

K-Woody dropped the cover for his debut tape, Livin' On The Flow when he hit 900 fans on Facebook.

K-Woody is on the road to 1000. The up and comer from Boston has finally hit 900 fans on the Facebook page and to thank the fans he dropped a track and the cover for Livin’ On The Flow. The track is a remix of Justice’s D.A.N.C.E and as per usual, K-Woody kills it. I’m not sure if the track he dropped is the full version or just a preview to tide fans over til Livin’ On The Flow drops but once again it shows Woody’s diversity and how he can jump on anything and spit some sick bars. Check out K-Woody’s Facebook fanpage here and help him get to 1000 fans before he drops LOTF. And be sure to follow him on Twitter for updates on the tape and all new music.

Oh and did I forget to mention, Livin’ On The Flow drops on April 12th 2012. 8DAYS until Livin’ On The Flow.

K-Woody-Who Dat (J Cole remix)

When you sit down to write a post on an artist, it’s not that hard. Give your opinion of the track, album, video, concert etc and maybe put in a link to the track or a stream and a pic.

But then you get artists who don’t make it that easy. The up and coming K-Woody is one of those artists who seem determined to make doing a post about them so damn hard. How do you write about a guy who can change his style from deep and chilled to energetic and ready to party in just two songs? A guy who is still pretty young and has tonnes of potential? And a guy who can take on a J Cole sample and make me like it! So that’s why this post has taken so long. And seeing as it’s now 4am and I cannot sleep I have decided to tackle this head on. If I sound pretentious then screw it. Hit the jump. Continue reading

K-Woody ft A-Mo-Smile Back (Remix)

Shit, I thought that K-Woody was generous when he dropped me a preview of his “Moment 4 Life2 freestyle and when he dropped a track off “Livin’ On The Flow” when he hit 575 fans on Facebook. But damn, Woody keeps on giving. When he hit 600 Facebook fans he dropped yet another track off his upcoming tape. This time Woody does something a little different. He gets A-Mo in to spit on the track with him. I don’t know a lot about A-Mo to be honest, I think he’s from Massachusetts but I can’t be sure. Anyway, Woody and A-Mo flip Mac Miller’s “Smile Back” and lay down some solid vocals. Check the track out here. And follow Woody on Twitter.  And make sure to like Woody’s fan page and A-Mo’s fan page

K-Woody-Here’s To Fame

K-Woody dropped off this track to celebrate reaching 575 fans on Facebook.  The track is off Woody’s upcoming mixtape, “Living On The Flow”. It samples Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and as per usual, Woody nails it.

I can’t wait for the tape to drop. If it’s anything like what Woody’s been releasing up til now then it should be awesome. You can find the track on K-Woody’s Reverbnation page here. And like K-Woody’s fan page on Facebook and follow him on Twitter.

And being even more generous, K-Woody is dropping another track off the tape when he hits 600 likes on the page. So go like that now!
