K-Woody – People I’ve Met EP

00 - K-Woody_People_Ive_Met-front-large

K-Woody, the up and coming rapper from Boston dropped the amazing People I’ve Met EP yesterday. The EP was recorded and engineered by the uber talented One Love from Kinetics & One Love. I was a little late in copping it due to my internet kicking the bucket but damn it was worth the wait. If you read the blog at all you’ll know that I cannot get enough of Woody’s tracks. The dude consistently puts out good music with a message behind it. Livin’ On The Flow was Woody’s first solo tape and he has come a long way since that.

People I’ve Met  is the best work that Woody has put out yet. The production, features, lyrics and message all come together seamlessly and they deliver one hell of a mixtape. You may have already heard two of the tracks off the EP, Roll With Me and What’s RealThere is something for everyone on the EP and I guarantee that you will find at least one song that you can relate to. Hit the jump to read the rest and get the download link.

It’s Summer so we all knew that the awesome dudes from Radical Something had something in store for us. It seems like it’s been a long journey but it’s hard to believe that the guys have only been together for a year. In that time they have released a free album, We Are Nothing, and an EP, #NoSweat. For those of you who can’t be bothered to watch the video it basically means that Radical Something have decided to give their fans something to get up for on a Monday. Cata Gonzalez-Settle Down (remix)

For those of you who don’t know, Jon Kilmer Studios released a free beat mixtape on Monday. The tape features 12 awesome beats for anyone to use, but enough about that.

Cata Gonzalez, who i’ve posted a couple of times before on here decided to take Kilmer’s “Settle Down” beat and go over it. The result, well you can see from the video! When i first heard Cat, she was singing and she’s damn good at it too, but when she can jump between singing and rapping as easily as this it’s kind of awesome! I’ve only heard her rap on a few videos but when she does rap, Cat doesn’t play.

If you like what you see then make sure to support Cat as she’s currently working on her debut EP, “Old Soul, New Voice”
If you like the video then like her page on Facebook and follow her on Twitter.

K-Woody-Livin’ On The Flow (Mixtape)

One of the most underrated indie artists is back, K-Woody finally hit 1000 likes on the artist page and as promised, we got Livin’ On The Flow. The tape is Woody’s debut and it’s a mix of some older beats and a few new ones. The tape was written, edited and mastered by Woody. There’s even a track over Jon Kilmer Studios Midnight Rider beat. Hell, Woody even went over the same Cutlery beat that Hi-Rez went over for Ooh ChildThe tape is a mix of some party songs like Livin’ On The Flow and Midnight Rider.

K-Woody has been slowly building his fan base and it looks like word has spread. In a couple of weeks the artist page went from 900 likes to 1004. And how can you not like this kid when he puts out consistently good songs and can go over almost any beat. Hit the jump for the rest of the post and download link. Continue reading

K-Woody-D.A.N.C.E (Remix)

K-Woody dropped the cover for his debut tape, Livin' On The Flow when he hit 900 fans on Facebook.

K-Woody is on the road to 1000. The up and comer from Boston has finally hit 900 fans on the Facebook page and to thank the fans he dropped a track and the cover for Livin’ On The Flow. The track is a remix of Justice’s D.A.N.C.E and as per usual, K-Woody kills it. I’m not sure if the track he dropped is the full version or just a preview to tide fans over til Livin’ On The Flow drops but once again it shows Woody’s diversity and how he can jump on anything and spit some sick bars. Check out K-Woody’s Facebook fanpage here and help him get to 1000 fans before he drops LOTF. And be sure to follow him on Twitter for updates on the tape and all new music.

Oh and did I forget to mention, Livin’ On The Flow drops on April 12th 2012. 8DAYS until Livin’ On The Flow.

Come On The Attack Baby-A-Mo

Well I got the link to this track bout a week ago and I have been hella busy so I didn’t post it. But I had to make time for this .

God damn A-Mo goes  hard on this. The Massachusetts kid goes in on this energetic instrumental and kills it. This is definitely one of those songs that give you a boost when you need it. Had it on repeat for the past week and it’s still not getting old. Massive shouts to K-Woody for telling me about A-Mo and massive shouts to A-Mo for sending me the track on Facebook.

I’m not gonna lie, I honestly didn’t think there was that much good music by indie artists when I made the blog. I knew the bigger indie cats like MGK, Mike Stud, Missy Modell, Hi-Rez… all those guys. But it seems that for everyone of those bigger indie artists you have three guys like A-Mo and K-Woody who don’t have a huge following but have awesome skills on the mic. Hope to see more from A-Mo soon.

You can check out A-Mo’s other stuff on Reverbnation here and like the Facebook page. Download the track here.

The impact of Twitter and Facebook on the indie artist. Part 2

Image representing Facebook as depicted in Cru...

Image via CrunchBase

If you’ve been with the blog from the start, which I doubt anybody was seeing as it was never intended to be public, then you’ll remember a little rant/feature I did on how Twitter and Facebook have helped the indie artist. Well that post was pretty short and didn’t really make the point I thought it would. So because of that I’m officially revisiting the post with this part. Think of the first post as Eminem before he hit it big, pretty decent and made some good points but hadn’t much of an impact. And think of this post as Eminem when he went into the “Slim Shady” phase, made some good points (if a little crazy) and has much more of an impact…and hopefully this post reaches a much wider audience. So let’s jump right into it. Continue reading
